Optimi consolidates its position as Mobile Network Optimization Leader in Latin America
Two main Latin American Operators will use Optimi products to design and optimize their mobile networks
Malaga, Spain, —April, 2008. Optimi, the global leader of advanced design and optimization solutions for new wireless technologies, announced that an main global operator has selected Optimi as sole provider of design and optimization solutions to manage their cellular networks across all their Latin American markets. This prestigious operator will use Optimi product suite to secure optimum performance in its existing 2G networks and for the optimum design of the roll out of UMTS across the region.
The agreement covers all Optimi products: x-Wizard, Optimi's propagation planning tool; x-ACP, for financial efficient automatic cell planning and site selection; x-AFP, the market leader automatic frequency planning tool; x-Parameters, for automatic tuning of key network parameters aiming to achieve maximum return of the network investment; and x-Dimension, for network capacity and budget planning for the complete end-to-end network.
In parallel, the largest Latin American wireless consortium will continue to use Optimi's x-AFP (Automatic Frequency Planning) solution to help manage its spectrum usage. By utilizing Optimi's x-AFP solution, the Operator will employ superior optimization approaches and evaluate the impact of proposed frequency plans on capacity, coverage, Quality of Service (QoS) objectives and network expenditures. This is especially important on the migration path towards UMTS where the same spectrum resources are shared between the two technologies.
