Optimi Promotes Rich Pond to Senior Vice President of Sales
Pond directs North American sales and business development initiatives
Atlanta, GA, USA —January 16, 2007. Optimi, a global leader of customizable planning, optimization and monitoring solutions for new wireless technologies, has promoted Rich Pond to senior vice president, sales of North America. Pond has nearly 20 years of wireless and telecom sales experience, and is responsible for directing sales and business development initiatives and maintaining client relationships.
Pond was the former director of sales for Optimi's Cingular Wireless account and was responsible for selling wireless voice and data infrastructure solutions. Prior to joining Optimi, Pond served as director of sales for the Cingular Wireless account with Comverse Technologies, Siemens Communications and Lucent Technologies. At Lucent, he served as sales director of the KMC Telecom account and was responsible for selling landline technologies. Since 1990, Pond has helped Cingular Wireless, BellSouth Mobility, BellSouth Cellular and DCS Telecom evolve their networks from analog to TDMA, GSM and UMTS.

Pond earned double bachelor's degrees from East Carolina University and a master's degree in corporate finance from Mercer University. He earned certification as a Professional Project Manager by the Project Management Institute and George Washington University, and earned a master's certificate in project management from George Washington.
