Optimi Adds Scott Willis, Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing and Rich Pond, Director of Sales, Cingular Wireless Account
Industry Veterans Will Continue Record Sales Growth
Atlanta, GA, USA and Malaga, Spain — March 16, 2006. Optimi, a global leader in the development of customizable planning, optimization and monitoring solutions for new wireless technologies, announced that Scott Willis has been named senior vice president, sales and marketing and Rich Pond will serve as director of sales for the Cingular Wireless account.
As Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Willis will oversee global marketing and sales operations for the North American and Asia PAC regions. He has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications with both Fortune 500 organizations and early-stage companies. Before joining Optimi, Willis served as senior vice president of global services for Somera Communications (Nasdaq: SMRA), where he was responsible for developing and launching a new platform of asset management services (RecoveryPLUS). Additionally, he has held senior management positions with Nokia, KeyBridge Corporation, BellSouth and Sprint Communications.
Rich Pond, director of sales for the Cingular Wireless account, will promote and sell wireless voice and data infrastructure solutions to their radio, switching and IP networks. Pond brings 18 years of wireless telecommunications sales experience to Optimi. Prior to joining Optimi, Pond served as director of sales for the Cingular Wireless account with Lucent, Siemens and Comverse. Since 1990, Pond has helped Cingular Wireless, BellSouth Mobility, BellSouth Cellular and DCS Telecom evolve their networks from analog to TDMA, to GSM and to UMTS.

Willis holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Oklahoma and an M.B.A. from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University.
Pond earned double Bachelor of Arts degrees from East Carolina University and completed an M.B.A. in corporate finance from Mercer University.
