- Company history: In October 2003, Setram International acquired the Wizard planning business from Agilent, integrated its products and people and re-launched the company as Optimi Corporation. In 2004, Optimi continued expanding and merged with Tartessos Technologies, a European software and research consulting organization. Later that year, Optimi added to its resources by acquiring Admiratech, a consulting services provider.
- Optimi has more than 200 employees, with corporate headquarters located in Atlanta, Ga. and offices in Madrid and Malaga, Spain; Dubai, UAE; Singapore, Singapore; Mexico City, Mexico; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
- Juan Manuel Melero, CEO of Optimi, previously director of all global sales activities. His background includes senior positions in Nokia Networks, as well as author of 10 patent applications and various international publications.
- Optimi's clients are some of the most recognizable names in the wireless industry, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Vodafone, America Movil, Telefonica, Sprint-Nextel, Orascom and Telstra.
- Products: Optimi.s product portfolio is focused on providing cellular network operators with engineering tools for network design and optimisation. These tools help optimise the network to provide the required end user service performance while at the same time reducing operational and capital costs. Our tools have been designed to work with multi-vendor networks and support several cellular technologies: TDMA, CDMA, WCDMA, GSM, GPRS, EDGE and WiMAX. Furthermore, rather than independent pieces of software, our tools have been designed to work together in a wider frame in order to benefit from the services provided by other software modules.
- Services: Optimi combines RF engineering; the most advanced operations research techniques; and software engineering best practices to deliver designs and optimization results that make substantial customer-specific improvements.
- The company's team of engineers and software specialists come from all segments of the wireless industry and are regular contributors to wireless industry community groups, conferences and seminars.
- Optimi brings an enormous amount of "intellectual property" to the wireless industry. Its engineers hold a large number of patents and have authored several books and numerous international papers.
